Can social services stop me seeing my child?
Child social services have the responsibility to safeguard the welfare and well-being of children. If they have concerns about a child’s safety or welfare, they can take action to protect the child, including intervening in parental contact arrangements.
If child social services believe that a child may be at risk of harm, they can conduct an investigation and, if necessary, apply for court orders to ensure the child’s safety. This could potentially impact your contact with your child. However, it’s important to note that the Courts and social services typically prioritise maintaining relationships between children and their parents, as long as it is in the child’s best interests and it is safe to do so.
