Can I find out who reported me to social services?
The identity of the person who reported you to social services is generally kept confidential. Social services are committed to maintaining the privacy and safety of individuals who report concerns. Disclosing the identity of the person who made the report could discourage others from reporting valid concerns, potentially putting vulnerable individuals at risk.
The confidentiality of reporters is protected under laws and guidelines, such as the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Social services will handle your case based on the information provided in the report and conduct their own investigations as necessary. If you have concerns about the report or its accuracy, it’s advisable to discuss them directly with social services to address any misunderstandings or provide additional information.
